The latest tech trend at the moment is that of wearable devices and with companies like Fitbit releasing their fitness bands and Apple and Samsung releasing their smart watches it is only going to get bigger. The issue with wearable tech at the moment is that they generally aren’t the most affordable of products and are often left for the enthusiast in the group. This is where the company No.1 comes in with their high quality and affordable smart watch offerings. Recently they launched the D5+ which is their premium Android smart watch that is also at a low cost. Is the No.1 D5+ smart watch as good as people say? Let’s take a look in our No.1 D5+ Android smart watch review.
No.1 D5+ Android Smart Watch Review – What’s in the Box?
The No.1 D5+ shipped in a small standard shipping carton which was received damage free thanks to the folks at DHL. Opening the carton I was greeted by the No.1 D5+ Android smart watch packaging.
The Packaging of the D5+ is small and compact and makes use of matte white colouring with small icons denoting the products features. The small icons are used to form the company logo which is a nice touch. At the top left corner of the box is where the company logo is printed. Turning to the rear of the box you will find a list of the device specifications. All in all the D5+ packaging was nice and simplistic and I did not hear or feel any items rattling around inside which was a good sign.
Opening the box I found the content securely packaged in protective phone which helped the D5+ survive its perilous journey through the postage service. Removing the contents from the box I found the following items:

The No.1 D5+ is a Feature Packed Smart Watch
No.1 has taken careful consideration with it comes to the design of the D5+ and as such they have produced a great looking watch that would suit most people. The face of the watch is constructed using stainless steel and comes in silver or black. Connected to the watch face is a sheepskin leather strap which looks great and feels comfortable. I would have preferred more movement flexibility with the wrist strap however as the strap is attached pretty firmly to the watch.
The D5+ packs a similar design to its predecessor the D5, with its round watch face and bezel design. The stainless steel face helps protect the watch face from the elements and wear and tear. The overall weight of the watch is heavier than what you may be used to from a conventional watch however it is not too heavy where it weights your arm down and feels uncomfortable.
When it comes to the display, the D5+ comes packed with a 360 x 360 pixel IPS screen that supports 16 million colours. The screen isn’t anything spectacular however it does the job fine and looks good. One of the best things about the display is that it does not have those horrible black bars that appear on other smart watches which means that you can make use of the full display.
The D5+ is powered by Android 5.1 and packs a MTK6580 1.3GHz processor and 1GB and 8GB of internal memory under the hood. This should ensure that the watch will comfortably handle your day to day tasks and not struggle under the load. The watch takes about 25 seconds to boot up once powered on and whilst using the No.1 D5+ Android smart watch I did not notice any issues of lag or crashes.
On the topic of power, the D5+ contains a 450 mAh internal battery that is not removable. The D5+ ships with a charging dock that works well. Simply connect the dock to a USB power source and the watch simply sits on top of the dock and charged itself. The watch lasted for a number of days before it needed to be recharged which was great.
As with other smart watches on the market today, the D5+ comes with the common connection options that you would expect. The D5+ supports 3G network connections, built in WiFi 802.11 AC and Bluetooth 4.0. You are able to plug in you Nano sim card into the back of the watch by removing the back plate which gives you phone and network functions.
Besides great hardware the No.1 D5+ smart watch also packs a heap of features which includes:
Synchronization with your phone
Heart rate sensor
OS: Android 5.1
Core: Quad core, 1.3GHz
Bluetooth version: BT2.1 + BLE4.0
