Logitech MX Vertical Review

Logitech is one of the companies that has found a spot as one of the best mice makers in the market, and they also offer a variety of devices that rank above their competition. Their MX Vertical is another shot at reaching the top, except that the company has added more emphasis on the mouse’s ergonomics.

The MX Vertical combines versatility, design, style, and comfort to produce a mouse made especially for productivity. But aside from that, the mouse also comes with a couple of quirks. These make the device quite different compared to other mice that are available, as well as its design that makes the MX Vertical less portable.

But if you’re up for something different and unique, but still works efficiently, then the Logitech MX Vertical may be the mouse for you.

At the back of the box is another image, but it displays how the mouse should be held. A few key features are listed, as well as other essential details about the mouse.

Inside, you will get the Logitech MX Vertical itself, together with a USB Type-C charging cable (USB Type-A to USB Type-C), a unifying receiver, and the user documentation.

The Product

Logitech MX Vertical Review

The Logitech MX Vertical’s design is similar to a cresting wave that has a slight convex curve in its palm side. On the thumb rest is an inward curve. While a lot of mice have these curves, the MX Vertical has a vertical body and a broad base, giving it a trapezoidal profile.

If you look at its shape, it won’t look ergonomic, but it feels naturally comfortable to hold. It’s completely different from the traditional form of a mouse, but this handshake grip’s design is for preventing muscular fatigue.

The bottom of the mouse features a slick, glossy plastic that allows it to slide smoothly and effortlessly across any surface. Rubber wraps the left side of the mouse where your thumb rests for you to keep a firm hold on it. The main surface or the side where the palm rests uses basic matte black plastic.

The position of the left and right-click buttons of the Logitech MX Vertical are easy to find and click. These primary buttons are on the right side of the mouse, where the palm rests. The best thing about these buttons is that they provide tactile response on each click. The notched and rubberized scroll wheel is also on this side of the mouse.

This mouse has a metallic plate at the top portion, and this is also where the DPI switch is. In front, you will find a USB-C port for connecting the charger or for wired connection. Its USB-C cable has a more durable feel compared to an ordinary mouse’s cable.

The entire mouse’s profile has a design that simulates a natural handshake gesture. According to Logitech, this is the ideal posture for the hand since it helps lessen muscle fatigue and strain. The company worked together with engineers and ergonomists to find the perfect form factor of the MX Vertical, and the result was this mouse with a 57-degree angle to prevent arm and wrist pressure.

The Logitech MX Vertical measures 78.5 x 79 x 120 millimeters (H x W x D) and weighs a total of 135 grams. For its unifying receiver, it is 18.4 x 14.4 x 6.6 millimeters (H x W x D) and is only 2 grams.

To use the Logitech MX Vertical, you will need a couple of system requirements for it to be fully functional. Its unifying systems such as Windows 10 or later, Windows 7, or Windo reallyws 8. If you’re using macOS X, it should be 10, 13.6, or a later version.

For the Logitech MX Vertical’s technical specifications, it has a sensor with a nominal value of 1,000 dpi and 16,000 dpi. Speaking of dpi, its maximum and minimum value is 400 to 4000 dpi, but you can set it in increments of as low as 50 dpi.

The Logitech MX Vertical comes with a rechargeable 240 mAh Li-po battery and has a wireless operating distance of 10 meters. In addition to these, it comes with a one-year limited hardware warranty for convenience.

Using the Product

While the MX Vertical doesn’t boast a lot of specifications, unlike a gaming mouse, it delivers the ideal performance to boost productivity. It was not as precise as those with 16,000 DPI, but it has an accurate sensor. Since its DPI ranges from 400 to 4000, we were able to use the perfect settings for us. With the DPI range, this mouse will work well whether you use a 720p or 4K monitor. Additionally, it was more sensitive than we had expected, and it was good enough for us to work faster and more efficiently.

As mentioned, there are three ways for connectivity, and all of these are excellent. When using Bluetooth, we did not experience any lags and latency issues. The mouse’s operation was smooth and as accurate as it was when we used wired connectivity. When we tested it with multiple computers, switching from one device to another was effortless, and we didn’t encounter any problems with this.

After a couple of weeks using the MX Vertical, we noticed that we experienced less wrist strain and discomfort. Since we work in front of the computer for long hours each day, the significant decrease of our hand and wrist pain surprised us. With that, we can claim that the MX Vertical indeed improves your hand’s posture. And because of its excellent performance, we’re giving this mouse our two thumbs up.

The Logitech MX Vertical is a new and unique design for a mouse, and it will take some time to adjust your hand’s position for this. But despite that, the result will be great in the long run. It’s an excellent mouse to help you boost your productivity. Aside from that, it will help prevent muscle fatigue and chronic pain since it promotes proper posture.

If you spend most of your time on the computer, the MX Vertical is the perfect mouse for you. The mouse delivers impressive performance that is perfect for a variety of tasks, and it can help avoid conditions like chronic pain in the hands and wrists in the future.

If you’re looking for the ideal mouse that will help you work efficiently and productively, we highly recommend the Logitech MX Vertical. It gives the precision and sensitivity you need, making it one of the best mice that your money can buy.
