Inside the box, you will find the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset, micro-suede ear pads, leatherette ear pads with noise-isolating features, a detachable microphone with a full pop-filter, a PC splitter for separating headphone and mic jacks, a PC/console cable with in-line mute and volume, and the user documentation.
Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset Review
The Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset is the very first headset from the company that carries the PRO name. It’s built with the most advanced technology and highest quality materials to give you exceptional audio performance.
Though it sports a minimalist design, the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset doesn’t sacrifice any of the visual aesthetics for its simplicity. In all honesty, we love the gaming headset’s all-black design with only the white Logitech logos on its earcups highlighting the aesthetics. The top part of its headband features a glossy G while a discrete Pro is at the side. Other than these, you’ll only find smooth black curves and sturdy construction.
It would have been nice if the headband itself had memory foam on it. Luckily, the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset is a super-light product, so more padding isn’t that necessary.
For its physical specifications, the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset is 172 x 81.7 x 182 millimeters (H x W x D) and weighs 259 grams without its cable. Its PC cable measures 2 meters which is convenient enough for use.
The Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset has a Hybrid mesh PRO G driver with a magnet made from Neodymium. It has a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and an impedance of 32 Ohms.
This gaming speaker has a sensitivity of 107 dB @ 1 kHz SPL30 mW/ 1cm while its noise isolation reaches up to 16 dB in total. We love that it uses the Windows Sonic & Dolby Atmos for its surround sound.
Materials used to create the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset include TR-90 nylon for the headband, stainless steel for the slider, and glass-fiber reinforced nylon. It comes with leatherette ear & head pads which fit perfectly for the soft-touch earcups. However, the package also includes additional microsuede ear pads that you can change depending on your preference.
Its PRO microphone is a black electret condenser type that has a cardioid (uni-directional) pickup pattern. The mic measures 4 millimeters, has a full-range flex arm, and a frequency response of 100 Hz to 10 kHz.
Compatibility includes the PS4, a PC, the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and VR. Plus, it comes with a 2-year warranty which is something we appreciate.
The Pro-G Drivers provide better audio precision so you can hear quiet footsteps, voice comms, and gunshot audio signatures. The Hybrid-mesh Pro-G audio drivers are the solution to typical distortion problems, which allow for the headphones to deliver precision, clarity, and booming bass.
Surround Sound Audio
The Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset is compatible with the surround sound features of Windows 10. Some of these features include Windows Sonic for headphones and Dolby Atmos for accuracy in positional audio. Clarity and directional audio combined will make you aware of your surroundings.
Passive Noise Isolation
The Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset comes with premium-quality leather earpads that form a seal around the ears to passively isolate noise. Aside from noise isolation, you can experience high levels of comfort and reduce up to distractions by 50%, which is better compared to other headphones. The headset also comes with small microsuede earpads.
Professional-Grade Condenser Microphones
The pro-grade condenser microphone offers wider frequency response, higher sensitivity, and reduces the signal-noise ratio. With its full-size pop filter, your voice comms will be loud, audible, and clear.
Durable, Lightweight, and Comfortable
The G PRO Gaming Headset has a solid construction, but it’s light and comfortable when you wear it. It’s because the headphones utilize high-quality materials like TR90 nylon for the headband, glass fiber supporting the nylon joints, as well as stainless steel sliders. The polymer shell and fork cause the headset to be lightweight and ideal for long periods of wearing.
Using the Product
The Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset makes use of the Pro G drivers from Logitech that utilizes mesh materials to provide low-distortion sound performance. It’s quite interesting that the drivers continue to have a pending patent on them despite first launching three years ago in the G-633 headset.
Like the other Logitech headsets that make use of these drivers, the sound performance of the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset is notably good, clear, and tuned for neutral frequency response. It has a bit of accentuation that makes the gaming headset more fun and exciting to use.
For the bass, it sounds nice, solid, and powerful; plus, it doesn’t bleed into the mid-range which makes it even better. The mids are forward with excellent vocal timbre in all the tracks we listened to. Also, highs were great and precise.
The Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset also keeps the bass porting of the 433 and its acoustic chamber design. For its driver, it’s suspended at the center of the cup while also being angled. This specific feature of the headset improves the soundstage, and it does the job well. We didn’t enjoy the 433’s soundstage much, but with the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset, we’re noticing the width a whole lot.
You can utilize the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset in a loud environment without any problems since the headset’s focus and design is influenced by the input of pro gamers as well. And since these professional gamers are in noisy, loud environments, the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset does a perfect job of isolating external noise for pure gaming enjoyment.
The final improvements to the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset are on the microphone. Instead of having a bendable material, Logitech opted for a metallic one for the G Pro, but it’s still flexible enough for use.
It comes with a full-sized pop filter and covers the whole capsule of the mic compared to the little pop filter of the G-433. The previous microphone was already good, but this new one on the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset is even better. It gave us a clean and natural tone with the right amount of background noise isolation.
Overall, the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset performed excellently, and for that, we’re giving it and Logitech two thumbs up.
You can configure the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset via the Logitech G Hub, a software application that the company introduced last year. It ties all of your Logitech products in a single program so you can easily configure any device that you’ve linked to it.
You will find a total of three tabs on the left portion of the interface. The first is the Microphone tab where you can choose from a variety of presets and adjust your equalizer.
The next tab after the Microphone tab is the Equalizer. Give EQ options are available. There are some presets made by the experts and a few standard choices for various types of games.
The third and last tab is the Acoustics tab, where you can adjust your headphones’ and microphone’s volume levels. A sidetone option is also available so you can hear some of the noise in your surroundings or cut out some background noise. Aside from volume levels and the sidetone option, you can find the settings for surround sound here.
Reliability and longevity are some of the reasons why the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset is one of the most excellent devices today. It works excellently and delivers high-quality sound at all times. Aside from that, it’s exceptionally comfortable, which is surprising since it feels robust and durable.
It doesn’t have RGB, but it has everything you need at an affordable price. If you’re looking for a simple headset that delivers impressive performance and high levels of comfort, we highly recommend the Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset.
