There are some consumers who consider it fine to store or set their headsets on their desks; some simply opt for the banana holders for these. Yet there are enthusiasts who require premium products that will perfectly fit and match their currently owned peripherals.
Corsair is one of the best component and peripheral manufacturers in the gaming industry. And with their drive to introduce RGB lighting to every gaming peripheral possible, the company recently introduced their ST100 RGB Headset Stand.
If you are someone who already has their own gaming headset from Corsair, then you’d most probably want to outfit and design your gaming area with a matching accessory that better stores your premium headset.
This ST100 RGB Headset Stand from Corsair is made of aircraft-grade aluminum, plus two USB 3.1 1st Gen pass thru ports, as well as an integrated sound card that is able to produce great 7.1 virtual surround sound.
These features only prove that the ST100 RGB Headset Stand from Corsair is aimed specifically towards the continuously growing crowd of PC gaming enthusiasts.
Corsair ST100 RGB Headset Stand Review – What’s in the Box?
This headset stand from Corsair is shipped in a nice package that evokes a premium look and feel. It comes with a yellow rim along the outer portion of the box, together with a rainbow stripe that decorates across the bottom part of it.
The company makes use of this kind of packaging on a lot of their products to make it easier for everyone to better identify these, especially for those who are searching for Corsair items in stores.
Inside, you will see the ST100 RGB Headset Stand; and other than the stand from Corsair, you will also find a couple of other items included in the package. One is the illustrative manual which thoroughly explains how you should set up the headset stand.
It also details how you should install and go through the iCUE software from Corsair. It’s really very useful so we’re really glad that Corsair made their user manual this detailed and easy to understand.
Aside from the manual, you will also find the USB 3.1 micro B cable, plus a warranty guide. They also included a two-year warranty for the ST100 RGB Headset Stand, as well as all the other audio products from Corsair. About the USB 3.1 cable in the package, it is rubber coated for added security, and is around six feet long which is really good. The length is surely more than enough to be routed under your desk, and to a vacant USB port on your computer.
Corsair ST100 RGB Headset Stand Review
The Corsair ST100 RGB Headset Stand is made using quality materials like aircraft-grade aluminum which makes the stand feeling very durable and tough from top to bottom.
There are two screws present to secure the ST100 RGB Headset Stand’s central portion to its base; and what’s nice about this is that everything fits perfectly in place, with clean machining between the center bar and the base. The company didn’t include a leveled port cover for the USB 3.1 pass thru port, and this would’ve been a really great addition for those users who won’t be utilizing the port.
The logo of Corsair that’s on the ST100 RGB Headset Stand sports an RGB lighting zone. It is also manufactured from a single diffused plastic material which looks really great. Speaking of this diffused plastic material, it really does an excellent job of displaying the LED effects in a nice and even pattern without being too bright.
The Corsair ST100 RGB Headset Stand sports a 3.5 millimeter audio jack and two USB 3.1 1st Gen pass thru ports. Generally, this headset stand does not really need to be linked to the USB 3.1 port to work, but its pass thru speed will be limited and narrowed down to the speed of the port that it’s linked to.
The USB 3.1 ports are set along the rear portion of the ST100 RGB Headset Stand. We liked that this port was pretty solid with the cable offering a bit of extra reinforcement too. This is all thanks to the two additional connection points on the stand.
Since there’s a lot of space on the stand, Corsair would have made it even better if they included hooks on the rear for cable management. Though it isn’t something that a lot of enthusiasts really look for when it comes to headset stands, we still think that it would also be a great addition to it.
The headset support bar of the Corsair ST100 RGB Headset Stand has a lot of room from back to front, and will readily accommodate pretty much any type of headset that you can think of. There’s a grooved spot for the headset band to rest on which prevents the headset from slipping off in front or on the rear portion of the stand.
The company has guaranteed that this specific spot of the ST100 RGB Headset Stand has been thoroughly machined, and there are no sharp areas that may damage the band material of your headset.
For the headset stand’s diffused LED ring, it smoothly runs between the primary rubber bottom, and it also goes all the way to the base. Speaking of this part, the base of the ST100 RGB Headset Stand has a rubber, soft touch coating that is applied to the area, along with a stamped logo of the company and an info sticker as well. Its base is tough, and can hold perfectly on glass or wooden surface.
We think that Corsair did a pretty good job of choosing this material for their headset stand; it isn’t only sturdy and durable, but it also has a nice and premium feel to it. With how it’s made, we feel that it can last for years of continuous use, and that’s something great.

Using the Product
Aside from the looks, the Corsair Corsair ST100 RGB Headset Stand definitely comes with a well-made build. There was no rattling and we didn’t find any issue with it in terms of quality. It’s also stable and has great balance since it did not bounce when we tried to push it up in different directions.
It’s aircraft-grade aluminum has a great feel and we really appreciate that it doesn’t easily get fingerprints which makes it easier to clean. The base and its metal edge also passed our scratch test which proves that it’s really tough.
All in all, we give two thumbs up for the Corsair ST100 RGB Headset Stand since it offers aesthetics, quality, and it also comes with great features for enhancing audio quality which isn’t something you can find in other headphone stands.
Through the iCUE software, you can customize the RGB lighting of the ST100 RGB Headset Stand. Without this, the headset stand will only have a standard lighting mode and you will not be able to manage other controls such as the surround mode and the sound card equalizer.
To get this, all you have to do is to download the software from Corsair’s official website, then install the program so you can configure the audio card. Its default settings is set to stereo mode and you will have a number of equalizer modes to choose from.
The iCUE software has a simple interface which is easy to use, and we think that Corsair is doing a great job when it comes to their RGB devices. For this headset stand, the effects are smooth and the lights are responsive which is something that we definitely like.
Don’t expect miracles from the soundcard since it’s just an addition that slightly improves the audio quality of your headset. Overall, the audio was crisp and clean which was fine for both music and gaming audio. The 7.1 surround sound was also great with the games we tried.
Having a premium-quality stand with RGB lights for your headset is optional and is a personal preference. However, the ST100 RGB Headset Stand from Corsair is more than just a stand. It’s well-built to handle even heavy headsets, plus it has an eye-catching design to match your rig.
We really like its additional features such as the 7.1 virtual surround audio card since this allows for plugging a wired headset on it. It’s a great accessory to match with your gaming headset and it’s handy as well. If you’re looking for high-quality headset stands, we highly recommend the Corsair ST100 RGB Headset Stand.
