The team over at VideoLAN have announced that they are currently working on rolling out the ever popular VLC media player to the Xbox One. With VLC already being available across computers, mobile devices and media players, the release on the Xbox One makes complete sense.

VLC is being launched as part of the initial lineup for Microsoft’s UWP platform which is designed to allow developers to create a single app that runs on any device that;s running the Windows Operating System.

The release on the Xbox One should help add to the functionality of the Xbox One being a viable media player for the home. With great file support, a great UI and fantastic support, VLC is sure to be a welcome addition to the home.
