The Product

Logitech Crayon Review

The Crayon has a 6.5-inch long body made from aluminum and is shaped just like a carpenter’s pencil. It’s generally a flat triangle that won’t easily roll when you place it on a flat surface; also, it sits comfortably right in your hand for the perfect grip.

The device weighs only 0.7 ounces so drawing and writing with the digital pencil becomes very intuitive and natural just like when you’re using a real pen. We really liked its metal build that’s cool to the touch, while its sleek and minimalist design is highlighted with an orange cap and tip. This color will make it easier for you to find the device when you slip it into your pencil case or backpack.

It’s surely something more kid-friendly compared to the Apple Pencil, but it is designed to make the device strong and durable enough to make each of its parts more difficult to tamper with and lose. It comes with a special tool that fits in two little holes found on the side of the device, releasing its front end in case its tips require to be removed. It also has a twist-off cap for quicker and easier replacements.

Right at the top of the device, the presence of an orange rubber cap is seen. This specifically helps in protecting the lightning charging point. It is a female port that can be readily charged via standard lightning cable. Generally, it’s less cumbersome compared to trying to utilize an iPad with a charging Apple Pencil popping out of it; plus, there’s also a lesser chance of it getting damaged.

The Logitech Crayon’s dimensions are as follows: it has a height of 163 millimeters, width of 12 millimeters, a depth of 8 millimeters and weighs only at 20 grams.

The Crayon is compatible with other devices like the iPad 6th generation which is a 2018 release from the company. It comes with a 1.2 drop for its protection, and makes use of lithium batteries for power and connectivity.

Using the Product

By contrast, the Logitech is slender enough to make it glide seamlessly across your iPad’s screen. We tried this out by drawing in a slow and quick manner – both leaving great results since we never experienced any line breaks. What we really liked about this was that the marks instantly appeared without any latency detected. Something that isn’t like this when we tried using the stylus on Windows tablets.

Its integrated battery is great for use until half of the day, and using the lightning cable for a bit adds more hours to the Crayon. The company claims that the battery can last as long as seven hours, which is really a good enough time to get you through a really busy day. To help preserve the battery life, the device automatically shuts down if it hasn’t been used in 30 minutes. Also, even if you end up forgetting to charge the Logitech Crayon the night before, you just need to do a really quick two-minute charge to give you adequate power for at least 30 minutes of use.

As for the tip of the Crayon, it measures just the same as the Apple Pencil, making it an adequate tool for accurately drawing, sketching, and jotting down notes. It can also mimic the natural strokes precisely compared to stylus that have wider tips. It’s really a great device as it seems more durable and solid; plus, it seems that the Crayon can also withstand rougher handling.

Its build and form are also great since the device rests on your hands perfectly, giving you a good and comfortable grip for prolonged use. Even a child with small hands will be able to easily hold the Crayon, and you won’t have to worry about having painful hands or fingers after using this.

All in all, we’d highly recommend the Logitech Crayon and we’re also giving it two thumbs-up for its performance.

Conclusion

The Logitech Crayon is a great stylus if you’re looking for something affordable yet reliable. It allows you to easily take notes, mark things up, and it’s also good for minor artistic uses.

Although it does not equate the function of a professional artist’s stylus, it gets the job done adequately. We think that it’s something that’s for everyone – for school kids and any iPad user who might need a stylus for convenience. In our opinion, the Logitech Crayon is more of an “out in the field” stylus since its construction is really secure; losing its parts is less likely to happen and if ever you drop it, you should easily find this. To conclude our review, we highly recommend the Logitech Crayon if you’re looking for an affordable stylus that will help you make daily tasks easier.
